Shaping the future at the Banking Transformation Summit

Summary
At the Banking Transformation Summit (BTS), we showed how composable banking and agentic AI are changing SME lending. We launched Kuro, our new banking brain, ran a live product challenge and invited Kamuno to share how they’re scaling fast with our no-code platform. Real impact, zero IT drag.
At the 2025 Banking Transformation Summit in London, more than 2,500 professionals from banks, fintechs and wealth platforms gathered to explore how financial services can move forward, faster, smarter and with less friction.
We joined this year’s summit to share something very practical: a better way to build and deliver financial products faster, more flexibly and without unnecessary complexity. Our message was clear. For SME lenders, transformation doesn’t have to mean replatforming or long roadmaps.
Taking the spotlight: reimagining SME lending.
We took the stage with a clear message: it’s time to stop overcomplicating lending for SMEs. Jamie Burink's keynote, Empowering SME lenders: The right tech and business models for growth, unpacked how that’s changing. He showed how composable banking, automation and agentic AI can reshape SME credit delivery at speed. Not someday but right now.
We also introduced Kuro, our new agentic banking brain. Kuro listens, thinks and builds. It makes product development feel less like a roadmap and more like a conversation. Want to build a new financial product? Just say it.
Live challenge: build bold with Kuro
We launched Kuro live, not just as a concept but as a challenge. BTS attendees were asked to create a bold financial product using Kuro, exploring how quickly it could move from concept to working logic with no IT bottlenecks or tickets.
We scored submissions on, originality, impact, realism, speed and fun. The outcome: fast builds, bold ideas and a live showcase of what agentic product development really looks like.

Building a brain for banks
Agentic Banking is built on a foundational shift: systems no longer just execute logic, they express intelligence.
"At BTS, we showed how Kuro turns agentic AI into something real. The energy around it confirmed what we already knew: banking’s next chapter is written by humans and intelligent agents, together."

Client spotlight: Kamuno on stage
Digital transformation means little without real-world application. That’s why we invited Samantha Pitchford (CTO) and Roger Twerenbold (CCO) from Kamuno, a Swiss SME lender, to join us on stage and share how they’re scaling fast with Akkuro.
During their session with Jamie Burink, they shared how Kamuno is reinventing SME financing in Switzerland, not by building an in-house tech stack, but by configuring tailored credit journeys using Akkuro’s no-code composable lending platform.
Kamuno’s team builds and launches fully compliant credit products without relying on internal developers or third-party custom builds. Using our no-code composable lending platform, they tailor credit journeys for SME clients in real time, adapting to changes in regulation, risk and demand without touching the core system.
The result? Faster time-to-market, full control and a technology stack that works for the business and not against it.

At the Akkuro booth: conversations, use cases and demos
Conferences aren’t about badges or booths. They’re about conversations that unlock new ways of thinking.
We engaged directly with visitors at the Akkuro booth. We had insightful discussions about multiple subjects, such as:
- Lending: from origination to servicing
- Savings & Investments: orchestrated, real-time customer journeys
- Agentic product design with Kuro: describe it once, deploy instantly.
Demo highlights included a plug-and-play mortgage affordability calculator, CRM integration with KYC workflows and smart onboarding journeys for investment products.
In this short video, Frank Schooneveldt - Managing Director at Akkuro Savings & Investments, reflects on the most pressing questions we heard at the summit: what’s keeping financial institutions up at night? How do you keep up with change without losing control? And what moments stood out most?
Let’s continue the conversation!
We met so many people at BTS who are rethinking how banking should work. If you’re exploring new ways to serve customers, launch products or modernize your tech stack we’d love to talk.
